Koksaleixi Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is in roadcuts on the western slope of Kensayis Hill on the southern slope of Luobokenu Mountain (81°10′06″E, 44°28′24″N), Xinjiang. The Koksaleixi Fm was named by the United Stratigraphic Group of Xinjiang Party of Regional Geological Survey and Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences in 1977, and was published by Hou Hongfei et al. (1979).

Lithology and Thickness
The formation is characterized by dark gray, grayish green calcareous siltstone, silty slate intercalated with thin-bedded limestone, with a sericitization in the upper part. In the type area, the Koksaleixi Formation recorded thickness of 228 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The Koksaleixi Fm is covered at the lower boundary in the type section. In Guozigou, Huocheng, this formation is conformable below the Hudukdaban Fm.
Upper contact
The Koksaleixi Fm is covered at the upper boundary in the type section. Elsewhere, it is in conformable contact onto the Xin’ertai Fm (Xin'ertai Fm)

Fossils
It yields graptolite Dicellograptus sextans, D. divaricatus, Husterograptus teretiusculus, Climacograptus antiquus (Xiao Bing, 1990). In 1985, Chen Xu restudied the type section, and divided it into two graptolite zones, the Nemagraptus gracilis zone in the lower part and the D. clingani zone in the upper part.
